Enkhuizen is very unusual town. The streets form a maze, not to hard to find your way in, but very difficult to get out again once you found a certain address.

This building is the Dromedaris  (dromedary), which is a very recognizable landmark, as well from the lake as from the land.

On the lefthandside of the Dromedaris, you find the Enkhuizer Almanak museum. Very tiny, but fun. To get there you’d best

start at the station, the VVV Tourist Information is located next to it, and from there follow the harbour front.

Go to the left in the Spoorstraat and immediately turn right. Just before the Dromedaris turn right again and here I found

parking space. At the end of the street you see the dyke, turn left and you have to climb a small slope. Pass the harbour master’s

office and on your left hand you see the museum. Along the dyke are several restaurants.

Very near the VVV Tourist Information Centre  you find the departure point for sailing tours to Medemblik, Urk and Stavoren. Tickets

and sailing schedules at the VVV.

At the Enkhuizer Zand one of the attractions is the Sprookjeswonderland (Fairytale Wonderland). At the parkinglot P2 are three

invalid parking spaces.

The Zuiderzee Museum consist of an Outer- and an Inner Museum. The Outer museum can only be reached by boat; on the right

hand side of the large sluices is parking space and you will be guided to the boats. The access for wheelchairs is limited.

The Inner Museum is also partly accessible for wheelchairs, but you need a mobile person to buy the tickets and open the

door for wheelchairs.

Enkhuizer Almanak Museum, Havenweg 3a; open from April until November daily, except on Monday, from 11.00 to 17.00 hrs.

Sprookjeswonderland, Kooizandweg 9; open from 3rd of April until first of November, daily from  10.00 to 17.30 hrs and in

winter from 11.00 to 18.30 hrs, although some days closed: telephone 0228-317853.

Zuiderzeemuseum Outer: Wierdijk 12-22; open daily from 10.00 – 17.00 hrs from the 10^th of April until the first of November.

Zuiderzeemuseum Inner: Wierdijk 12-22; open daily from 10.00 – 17.00 hrs, closed on 25^th of December and first of January.
