This is the Deer park in the centre of Bergen. Bergen is a green village ideal for walkers, with a lot of twisting and crossing paths. Luckily there is a lot to see for the not so mobile.

A neat parking lot is located in the corner of the square which gives access to the centre; go left along the Brasserie (restaurant). Once at the parking lot, go through the fence and to your left is the Museum “’t Sterkenhuis”. Past the museum and to your left are the ruins of the Ruïnekerk.

Walking to the square from the parking lot, you see the VVV Dutch Tourist Office and an Artist-Centre. Here you find changing exhibitions of all forms of art, including jewellery. On the square there are several bars and restaurants for one’s food and drink.

Follow the road to the left of  the Ruïnekerk and you come to the Hoflaan. At the left-hand side of the road is a very small parking lot, where you can park for a visit to the Museum Kranenburgh – in the building there is a stair-lift.
